Wigs and Hair Systems:
Wigs and hair systems are widely used today. Wigs is a term usually used for females and hair systems is a term typically used in males. Wigs and hair systems are not a permanent solution to hair loss however it is important to understand their use and cost. However the cost and the quality is all over the map. And as a general thumb, the more you pay, the better the wig.
Case in point: John Travolta the actor obviously has enough cash flow to purchase the most expensive wigs in the world. Rumor has it, Mr. Travolta has a room in his mansion dedicated to his various wigs.
The wig is typically pulled over the entire scalp whereas the hair system may be made for parts of the scalp such as the crown. The hair system needs to be attached to the scalp. This can be accomplished by use of tapes, glues, or small buttons sewn into the scalp. These adhesives, glues or buttons are costly over time because it requires an up keep maintenance.
The weave has been around for many years. It has become a quick way to get results in the Hollywood scene and becoming the choice for many. Why? Because it combines your natural hair along with the supplemental hair, thus making it an ideal solution for those experiencing mild hair loss. However, there are downsides such as traction alopecia. This is a condition of hair loss brought on by constant forces put upon the hair follicle by the weave and overtime, completely pulling the follicle out permanently.
